In 2012, I decided to attend NYU Stern’s evening MBA program despite the challenges of running my own real estate brokerage at the time and having a 2-year old at home. The reasons were threefold—I wanted to learn more about the overall business world to feel more aligned with many of my clients; I wanted exposure to a terrific network that would be mutually beneficial for life; and I wanted a deeper understanding of how to be a manager and run my own business.
It was one of the best experiences and decisions of my life. Due in large part to my time there, I was able to take Skygroup Realty to the next level, which led to my merger with Warburg in June of 2015. I’ve already worked with multiple buyers and sellers from Stern—one of my favorite things to see is a “stern.edu” email address pop up in my inbox—and now that I’ve completed my masters and graduated, I’ll be giving back to Stern as much as possible.
Already in the pipeline are guest lectures on residential real estate in a Spring 2016 course, and leading multiple panel discussions via Stern’s real estate club. I count myself as indescribably fortunate to have been a member of NYU’s business school community, and in addition to the aforementioned upcoming events, I’m extremely eager to continue representing fellow alumnae, students, and their friends and families. You won’t find a better and more dedicated ally than your fellow Sternie!
